Night-vision photos and other news

20mph outside the Bruton CastleThank you to those who were able to join us for the evening walk on the 20th June and many thanks to everyone we met who shared their ideas and signed the 20mph petition.  We spent a very enjoyable couple of hours visiting some of Bruton’s excellent pubs and restaurants, discussing the 20/20 Vision campaign and hearing the concerns and views of some of Bruton’s residents.  For more details and photographs please click here.

The next event is on July 20th when a few of us will be attempting to complete a mini triathlon around Bruton to raise awareness of the 20/20 campaign.  The triathlon will consist of a 20 minute swim, followed by a 20km cycle and finishing with a 20 hundred metre run.  If you would like to join us then please let us know.  Alternatively, if you’d like to sponsor us (we would love to get a few T-shirts made up) please get in contact.

As previously mentioned,  we now have a petition (already over 100 signatures) calling for a 20mph speed limit.  We will soon be distributing the petition to key points around the town and posting an online version.  It is important that we demonstrate the high level of local support for a 20mph speed limit in Bruton, so please take the time to sign the paper or online version and share with others.  Details of the locations of the petitions and a link to the online version will be posted soon.

The other exciting news is that we now on facebook and Twitter.  So please ‘like’, ‘follow’ and ‘re-tweet’ us.

Basii is running a stall at Bruton Primary Summer fair on the 10th of July.  Click here for the poster.  Please come and see us there, it will be an opportunity to share your opinions and suggest how the streets of Bruton can be improved.
