On Sunday the 20th July we had a mini-triathlon. The triathlon consisted of a 20km cycle, a 20 hundred metre run and finished with a 20 minute swim. We set out very early in the morning and had a fantastic cycle ride going through North Brewham, South Brewham and Redlynch. We cycled along wonderful quiet roads amongst stunning scenery with Alfred’s tower visible from many locations. After the cycle ride we were joined by some of our younger members for the run which went up the High Street, down the Plox and then up to Sexey’s Schools. We then had a great 20 minute swim with some impressive distances being covered. Seven-year-old Sophie managed to notch up over half a kilometre in twenty minutes (something many adults would be proud of)!
Well done to all those that took part including Sam, our Bondi beach lifeguard, who came all the way from Australia. Thanks to Bruton Swimmers who helped organise the mini-triathlon and thanks to Sexey’s school for use of the pool.
